A central street lined with tall stone buildings, each decorated with absurdly proportioned gargoyles that make goofy faces from the eaves above. The pavement stones are arranged in a swirling spiral pattern, and Troikans believe that stepping on the centermost stone of a spiral is bad luck

A circular, artificial lake filled with marble columns of various heights. This is the only location in Troika where the study and teaching of philosophy is permitted by law. Philosophers claim territory at the top of a column, driving off competition with the power of their demagoguery, or barring that, with a few well-thrown rocks. Successful philosophers ascend to the tallest spires, attracting gondolas full of students, day or night.
The current favorite is Fozwell the Troll, whose "Everyone Ultimately Wants To Eat A Baby" philosophy has earned him rock star status.

A series of arches bricked with crushed military helmets serve as the frame for generations of increasingly decrepit multi storey houses – built with little thought to longevity or fire safety. In some places the buildings on either side of the street converge, forming a dark tunnel of urban mismanagement.

A Street Level Guide to Urban Troika is a resource for TROIKA! that offers a collection of folks, creatures, shops, temples, parks, holidays, catastrophes, small gods and trash to fill the space between adventures in the Infinite City, aiding the referee in running a more open world game. It includes procedures for traveling through the city, contains nearly sixty fully statted enemies and allies and is illustrated throughout.

Physical copies are available through Spear Witch, iglootree and Pit of Infinite Shadow. If you would like an itch.io download key to go along with your purchase, forward a copy of your receipt to metalsnail.idea@protonmail.com and I'll send you one.

You should check out my other Troika! bits and bobs: Cold Dark Streets for gritty urban survival, Enthusiastic Hireling for hiring helpful little guys, and HABERGOUN for sending a bunch of helpful little guys to fight on your behalf.

I purchased this book from Spear Witch and was wondering if I could get an itch.io key for the PDF. Would that be alright? I did get a code from Spear Witch but I prefer to manage my PDF library through itch

I'll see what that entails. I might be able to make that an option for everyone.

Will you have copies of this for sale at terminal city con?

(1 edit)

I'll bring some, but I don't have a table or anything, you'll have to track me down (RPG Room Saturday/Sunday)

Just got an email back from Rain City Games that they will be willing to sell copies of my book on consignment. So you won't even need to track me down!

Feel free to come say hi if you want though. I'll be in the RPG room basically all Saturday and Sunday.

(1 edit)

I’m already in your Sunday morning game! Awesome that the book will be available too 👍

How come the digital version is as expensive as the physical version please? Makes it pretty difficult to justify. Would you consider adding community copies if bought?

Hi, thanks for reaching out!

Right now I don't want to compete with the folks who are selling the physical version, that seems rude. Also I'd like to get rid of the pile of books currently taking up the space under my desk where my legs usually go, so incentivizing folks to *not* buy the physical book doesn't make sense to me.

I'll look into doing promotions like Community Copies and Bundles once the dust settles a bit. In the meantime, basically all of my previous work is available for free or cheap-as-free, including some previews of the book on my blog:

I've decreased the price! Enjoy!

30 dollars is equivalent to 150 brazilian money for me :(

if you happen to get a discount, let me know. The project looks incredible!

Absolutely. As I said to another commenter, I want to let this exist at full price for a bit. I'll make a community post when I start looking at promotional pricing, so be sure to watch this space!
