Bittyburg is a minimalist city planning game designed flippantly as the result of an offhand challenge to make a game of this type without using the concept of "adjacency". The result became something I'm actually quite proud of that is easy to learn, plays quickly, and has a fairly broad decision space.

Bittyburg Civic Pride Edition is a more refined take on the original game, with plenty more municipal buildings, a reconsidered approach to residential buildings, and some extra rules that make building placement matter more. You can download the PDF here, or if you'd like a box to put on your shelf, you can pick it up on GameCrafter.

"Turn negative Goods and Money totals into positives"...what about positive Goods and Money totals, do they get subtracted too?

Yeah. The goal is to have the most efficient city possible. Extra is waste.

Based on your reply, I am understanding it this way: I want to score 10 points and have a population greater than 5. To do so, I need as few goods and as little money as possible (or as little debt as possible). Have I understood the goal of the game?

Also, what does +10 / -10 mean in Civic Pride 08? Is it +10 or -10 like in version 1?

Thanks.

You want to have the highest quality and population possible, while keeping goods and money as close to zero as possible (It is bad to collect taxes and not use them, also bad to run a deficit or have people going hungry).

When you ask about +10/-10, do you mean in the municipal building descriptions? That just means literally to increase or decrease a value by exactly ten.

That is what I meant. Thank you for clarifying.

The goal would be a good addition to the rules document. It makes sense to me now that you've explained it. I'm used to playing games where the goal is to make as much money as possible. I wrongly assumed that it would be a good strategy for this game too.

Played this late last night. First game I ended up with -11 points. Second game I ended up with 13 points.

I am really digging this style of game.  It's super fun and I like the theme.

I'm going through and trying all of your solo games now. Can you recommend any games by other people to someone who is new to the print and play world?

Lo he jugado varias veces, y creo que es complicado seguir la puntuación a medida que juegas si no lo vas apuntando.

Creo conveniente crear un sistema de puntuación intermedia a medida que vas jugando para saber qué colocar.

> 1 to 99 players

but you only have 2 dice, 20 turns to play, how would they play all together?

Use the same dice for the whole group. At a certain point you might need someone calling, like in bingo.

Nice game, you can present the game in the 2nd ROLL & WRITE GAME DESIGN CONTEST in BGG

Oh hey, that's a good idea, it's been a while since I did a BGG contest.
